For the printing industry, the main substrate materials are plastics and paper, and these materials themselves have strong static electricity and are insulators and are not suitable for discharging static electricity. Therefore, once there is static electricity, it is easy to accumulate static electricity, causing the substrates to adsorb each other and should not be peeled off and entered into the printing machine. Therefore, it is very necessary to remove static electricity from the surface of the substrate before printing.

If the paper is placed for too short a time before printing, there is no effective balance between the temperature and humidity of the paper and the printing environment, and the paper stack is too high and heavy, it will cause the paper to become static. During the paper production, processing and printing process, sometimes the paper or printed matter are attracted to each other and stick together, making it difficult to separate. This phenomenon is particularly prominent in spring and winter when the climate is dry. It may cause obstacles to normal paper feeding, paper collection and paper alignment, and may even cause the machine to fail to start.

There are two main ways to remove static electricity:
1. Increase the electrical conductivity of the material itself, but the service life is very short and the cost is high.
2. First, when taking out the substrate, dust removal and static elimination are performed at the same time to ensure that the substrate can be peeled off smoothly, and then each sheet enters the printing press one by one, and then static elimination is performed again at the paper inlet of the printing machine. This action ensures that the substrate itself does not contain static electricity before printing to ensure that there is no color cross-over during the subsequent printing process.
