Why should the petrochemical industry wear anti-static clothing

The ignition point of petroleum is very low, and only a small amount of electrostatic sparks are needed to ignite the entire production base. There are hazardous areas in the petrochemical industry where combustible gas explosive mixtures exist. Some hazardous substances are prone to generating and accumulating electrostatic charges. When the electrostatic potential reaches a certain level and there are discharge conditions, and the generated spark energy is greater than the minimum ignition energy of the hazardous substance, explosion and fire accidents can occur. Combating static electricity is the top priority for petroleum safety production, so operators should wear anti-static work clothes.
Anti static clothing is sewn with anti static fabric to prevent the accumulation of static electricity in clothing. The fabric is composed of anti-static fibers or anti-static synthetic fibers made entirely or partially of conductive materials made of metal or organic matter, or mixed and interwoven, roughly evenly or evenly mixed during weaving.
