How does anti-static heel strap work
Customers often consult about foot grounding issues. Anti static wrist straps are very simple, and most people understand their performance and working methods. However, when it comes to the issue of foot grounding, there are still many questions - this is the issue we will address in this article today.

The floor/footwear system is an alternative grounding solution for fixed standing or mobile workers. This method is not feasible for operators walking around in static electricity protection areas when sitting operators can be grounded through anti-static wrist straps.
The function of anti-static foot straps is to reliably contact the grounded anti-static floor and remove electrostatic charges from personnel by providing a continuous grounding path. They only need to place the grounding component in the shoe under their feet to make ordinary shoes grounded, making it convenient to use.
The anti-static foot strap releases static electricity from a person to the ground by connecting them to a grounded ground. The conductive tape placed inside the operator's shoes or socks makes electrical contact with the skin through sweat. The conductive tape is connected to a fixed safety resistor that limits current in the event of accidental electric shock. The other end of the resistor is connected to the conductive shoe sole, which contacts the grounded anti-static floor mat or electrostatic floor system through the shoe sole. It is necessary to wear anti-static foot bands on both feet to maintain the integrity of the body's connection to the ground. This way, even if one foot is lifted from the floor during walking, it can ensure that personnel are grounded properly. This will more reliably remove static charges generated by the human body during exercise and protect ESDS more reliably.
IEC 61340-5-1 recommends a safety resistance to ground (Rg) of at least 1 megohm to limit unexpected currents to 0.00025 amperes.
For standing operations, personnel can be grounded through a wrist strap system or shoe ground system. When using the shoe ground system, personnel should wear anti-static shoes on both feet and meet the following two conditions:
The total resistance of the system (from people, shoes, and floor to ground) should be less than 1.0 × 109 Ω;
The maximum body voltage generated should be less than 100V
