Fabric characteristics of anti-static coveralls

Anti-static coveralls refer to work clothes sewn with anti-static fabrics to prevent the accumulation of static electricity on clothing. Anti-static fabric is a fabric formed by mixing conductive fibers or anti-static synthetic fibers or both at roughly equal intervals or evenly during weaving. Conductive fiber refers to the general term for fibers made of conductive materials or sub-conducting materials made of metal or organic matter in whole or in part, and its volume resistivity ρv~ is between 104~109Ω/cm. According to the distribution of conductive components in the fiber, conductive fibers can be divided into three types: uniform conductive component, conductive component covering type, and conductive component composite type.

The anti-static coverall made of conductive fiber is added to the chemical fiber fabric, and its electricity dissipation is based on two mechanisms of leakage and neutralization of electric charge. When grounded, the static electricity on the fabric is neutralized by the corona discharge of the conductive fiber, and can also be discharged to the ground through the conductive fiber; when it is not grounded, it is dissipated by the weak corona discharge of the conductive fiber.

Anti-static fabrics can be woven fabrics, such as conductive silk, anti-static T/C fabrics, or knitted fabrics, such as anti-static knitted glove cloth, anti-electric knitted underwear, etc. In addition to meeting the general technical standards of textiles, anti-static fabrics must also have good anti-static properties to meet product production and safety requirements.
