How to Distinguish Genuine from Fake Antistatic Fabrics
To avoid counterfeit antistatic work clothes due to the presence of antistatic agents or antistatic striped fabrics, the following testing methods can be used:
1. Use a surface resistance tester to measure the resistance in both the warp and weft directions. If the resistance values are the same, it indicates the addition of antistatic agents. The esd fabric resistance value may not be accurate.
2. Pull out the conductive black fibers from the fabric and measure their resistance with a surface resistance tester. Removing several fibers consecutively can help determine if each black fiber contains conductive fibers.
3. Examine the fabric surface quality with a high-magnification magnifying glass. Compare the uniformity of the gaps between fibers, check for any adhering substances on the fiber surface, and ensure the fibers are neatly arranged and evenly tensioned.
4. Check the conductive fibers: Verify if conductive fibers are added according to specifications and identify the type of conductive fiber.
Furniture testing methods can be performed item by item as needed. In a fabric market where it's difficult to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit products, caution is key for buyers. Don't fall into the traps set by merchants just because the price is cheap.
