How to know the replacement time of anti-static clothing
We know that factories usually replace anti-static clothing according to the appearance evaluation standard or the number of times it is washed. According to the national standard for anti-static clothing, qualified anti-static clothing should be able to be washed 100 times to ensure that the anti-static effect does not decay. So, what standards should be used to judge the replacement time of anti-static clothing?
For the replacement conditions of anti-static clothing, we recommend understanding the objective test methods of anti-static clothing and fabrics, and establishing particle capture efficacy, particle prevention and ESD efficacy as replacement standards for work clothes.
In general, most anti-static clothing can be used longer in real-time applications after 100 effective washings according to the operating procedures recommended by IEST-RP-CC003.3, and the particle test complies with IEST-RP-CC003.3 and ASTMF-51 standards. Typically, there are 17 process cycles in a year. Therefore, if employees wearing anti-static overalls always adhere to cleanroom regulations, cleanroom clothing should be able to meet at least 6 years of typical cleanroom use. The designated fabric or work clothes manufacturer must be responsible for the repair of cleanroom clothing to ensure the effectiveness and durability of the repaired clothing.
