Key Considerations for Antistatic Raised Floor Design

Antistatic raised floor, also known as dissipative static floor, is a type of floor that allows charge to dissipate when grounded or connected to any lower potential point. It is characterized by a resistance between 10⁵ and 10⁹ ohms.

Design Considerations

1. The fire rating of the antistatic raised floor should meet the requirements of the "Code for Fire Protection Design of Interior Decoration of Buildings".

2. The height of the antistatic raised floor should be determined according to the usage requirements.

(1) For wiring only: Basic size is 250mm.

(2) For wiring and air conditioning duct: Basic size is 400mm. The removable panels of the floor should be interchangeable and have high manufacturing precision to ensure the required airtightness when the floor space is used as an air conditioning duct.

3. The installation of antistatic raised floor in the computer room is the final stage of building decoration. 4. The raised floor should be installed after the indoor ceiling panels are laid, and the ceiling lights and ventilation openings are installed. The floor should be cleaned before installation. (For floors with insulation and cable trays, these should be installed first.)

5. The raised floor for the anti-static computer room should be laid on a leveled cement mortar base. To reduce the height of the floor surface, when laying it directly on the structural floor slab, the structural floor slab must have a smooth surface and be coated with a bonding agent to harden the concrete surface and prevent sand from forming.

6. The floor surface should be smooth, non-slip, wear-resistant, and stain-resistant.

7. Grounding is essential after the floor is installed; otherwise, it will not provide anti-static protection.
