Several Hazards of Static Electricity in the Electronics Manufacturing Industry
Static electricity poses several hazards to the electronics manufacturing industry:
1. Dust Adsorption: In modern large-scale integrated circuit production, static electricity easily attracts dust, reducing the insulation strength between core wires, causing chip leakage, shortening lifespan, and even short circuits, leading to chip damage.
2. Electrostatic Field Induction and Discharge: Static electricity can induce strong electric fields at the ends of the oxide film and protruding metal parts of devices or chips due to the tip effect. Because the potential relative to ground differs at different points, when the electric field strength exceeds the insulation strength limit of a certain structural point, it can cause breakdown between dielectrics or between structural points, resulting in component failure or quality degradation.



3. Electrostatic Discharge and Broadband Electromagnetic Pulse Effects: Electrostatic discharge can cause dielectric breakdown in integrated circuit chips, core wire melting, increased leakage current accelerating aging, and changes in electrical performance parameters.
