Technical performance requirements and selection for the production of anti-static work clothes
If anti-static clothing is used in places prone to fires and explosions, you should usually choose anti-static clothing that is both anti-static and flame-retardant - flame-retardant anti-static clothing to provide workers with more reliable safety protection. If it is anti-static clothing used by gas station operators and similar types of work, choose special clothing that is both anti-static and oil-proof.
Work clothes made of 100% cotton have a certain effect in preventing static electricity, but they may not necessarily meet the relevant requirements of anti-static clothes, which require the clothing charge to be less than 0.6μC and point-to-point resistance, especially after washing, due to some detergents. Due to reasons such as selection, the effect of preventing static electricity will be greatly reduced. Therefore, you must be cautious when choosing anti-static clothing made of cotton fabrics.
When choosing anti-static clothing for quality verification, you should ask the supplier for relevant production license qualifications and inspection reports, and check the product characteristics, production batches, production dates in the inspection report, and whether the cloth samples provided are consistent with the products supplied. Since the structure of anti-static clothing is closely related to its anti-static effect, you should pay attention to the following details when inspecting the ordered anti-static work clothing:
1. Accessories such as buttons, zippers, hooks, and trippers on work clothes should preferably be made of plastic, nylon and other non-metallic materials, and no metal accessories should leak out. If metal accessories are used in the production of work clothes, you should try them on to ensure that the metal accessories are not exposed when wearing and engaging in various activities.
2. Look at the back of the work clothes. Pockets, welts, reinforcement fabrics, etc. are best made of anti-static fabrics. If they are made of other materials, their exposed area should be less than 20% of the exposed area of the entire anti-static clothes.
3. For cotton clothes and fully lined work clothes made for cold protection and warmth or other special requirements, the cotton inner cover and full lining should be detachable, and the lining and thermal cotton wrapping fabric should have anti-static functions.
4. Check the anti-static fabric. There should be conductive fibers in both the warp and weft directions. For the same type of conductive fibers, the higher the density added, the better the anti-static performance will be.
