The main working principle of anti-static clothing
In the general production and processing room, we can see the anti-static clothing worn by the operator, but who can tell the reason why the operator wears the anti-static clothing? It is estimated that few people can explain the principle well!
In fact, the main function of the anti-static clothing is to prevent static electricity accumulation. Its main working principle is to transmit the static electricity generated by the body through friction to a certain electric conductor, and it is impossible to accumulate static electricity. So far, the anti-static measures of the insulator mainly include three kinds of objects: electric conduction, hydrophilization of objects, and high humidity of the environment. General antistatic fabrics are made of antistatic agents for resin finishing. The main ones are obtained by adding antistatic agents to polyester or nylon polymers. In fact, the antistatic clothing is also a hydrophilic resin or an ionic surfactant, which relies on moisture absorption to reduce the surface resistance of the fabric, enhance the electrical conductivity, avoid the accumulation of static electricity, and is also conducive to the discharge of static electricity.

That is to say, the main development direction in front of us is to use the conductive and delicate fabric to make use of the method of conducting the object. Such anti-static products are not affected by the environment and have good durability.

When the operator wears an antistatic suit with conductive fibers, it means that the conductive fibers are not grounded. When the charged body is electrostatically charged, the electric charge converges toward the conductive yarn, and the conductive fiber induces a charge opposite to the polarity of the charge on the charged body. These charges generate an electric field in a local space near the conductive fiber and ionize the portion of the air to generate a corona discharge. The positive and negative ions generated by the corona discharge are opposite in polarity to the charge of the charged body, and the ions move toward the fabric to neutralize the charge of the fabric to eliminate static electricity.

Therefore, as pointed out above, only when the potential of the fabric exceeds the minimum discharge potential of the conductive fiber, the conductive fiber will undergo corona discharge, so when selecting an antistatic clothing, it is necessary to select a conductive property. Fiber, in order to ensure the protection of anti-static clothing!
