Warehouse electrostatic protection management specifications

1.0 Purpose

Develop guidelines for electrostatic protection operation to monitor the effectiveness of electrostatic protection, so as to eliminate the damage of components caused by electrostatic discharge and cause their hard and soft breakdowns to improve product quality and production efficiency. .

2.0 scope

Applicable to all workshops, warehouses, and people and equipment involved in production activities (including test operators, maintenance personnel, inspectors and their equipment, etc.) and all products.

When a customer requests to visit the company’s workshop/warehouse, the guide should ask the customer to wear electrostatic clothes and shoe covers. If they need to touch PCBA and electrostatic sensitive components, they should also wear anti-static hand straps and gloves.

3.0 Terminology

ESD: ELECTRO STATIC DISCHARGE electrostatic discharge

Grounding method: The grounding method is to directly put static electricity into the ground through a wire connection. This is the most direct and effective anti-static measure. The conductor is usually grounded, such as workers wearing anti-static hand straps and grounding the surface of the workbench and many more.

Electrostatic shielding: Electrostatic sensitive components will be exposed to areas with static electricity during storage or transportation. The method of electrostatic shielding can weaken the external influence on electronic components. The usual method is to use electrostatic shielding bags as protection.

Ion neutralization: Insulators are often prone to static electricity. Grounding is ineffective to eliminate static electricity in insulators. The usual method is ion neutralization, that is, ion fans, ion air guns, etc. are used in the working environment.

4.0 responsibilities

4.1 IPQC (Company Quality Department): Responsible for performing regular anti-static inspections and follow-up corrective measures according to the requirements of this document.

4.2 Relevant personnel: Perform operations according to the requirements of this document, maintain anti-static facilities, analyze the causes of failure, and propose improvement measures and the implementation of countermeasures.

4.3 Workshops and warehouses: All turnover vehicles shall be numbered and marked and maintained.

5.0 Procedure

5.1 Electrostatic training

All employees need to be properly trained and truly understand the mechanism of static electricity, the hazards caused by static electricity and several basic static electricity protection measures, and pass the exam before they can enter the production workshop and warehouse for work.

5.2 Approval of electrostatic materials/fixtures

All newly purchased electrostatic materials/fixtures must be confirmed by IQC before their surface impedance reaches 106~~~1011 before they are put into use. Anything above or below this range is unqualified;

5.3 Anti-static control in the production workshop

5.4 Anti-static control of cargo warehouse
