What types of antistatic wrist strap testers are available?
\

Antistatic wrist strap testers (ESD Wrist Strap Testers) are primarily used to check the functionality of antistatic wrist straps, ensuring the safe release of static electricity accumulated by the wearer.
Based on usage scenarios and management needs, they can be mainly divided into the following categories:
1. Simple Portable Testers (Offline Inspection Instruments) Common models: such as the 498 series. Features: Small size, low cost, no computer connection required. By simply pressing a metal plate, the audible and visual indicator lights (Pass/Fail) quickly determine whether the wrist strap and grounding wire are normal. Typically used as a daily inspection tool before employees enter the workshop.
2. Online Continuous Monitoring Instruments (Wrist Strap Alarms) Features: Directly installed on the workbench or equipment, worn by employees throughout the work process. Advantages: Can monitor the grounding status of single-wire or double-wire wrist straps in real time. If a wire break or abnormal resistance occurs, the instrument will immediately issue an audible and visual alarm to prevent static electricity damage to sensitive electronic components.
3. Comprehensive Human Body Testers (Access Control/Turret Linked Models) Features: Multifunctional devices. This device can test not only anti-static wrist straps but also anti-static shoes (ankle straps) independently or in combination. Application: Typically linked with factory access control gates (such as tripod turnstiles and wing gates). The gate will only open when both the wrist strap and footwear tests are passed, enforced to ensure anti-static compliance on the production line.
4. Networked Data Management Tester Features: Equipped with a dedicated data management system and software. The tester supports reading employee ID cards or fingerprints and can automatically record each employee's test time, test data, and results. It is typically used in highly automated modern electronics manufacturing plants.
