This paper introduces the requirements and methods of mobile phone electrostatic discharge test, summarizes and analyzes the main failure phenomena and modes of mobile phone electrostatic discharge immunity test, which can be used for mobile phone electrostatic discharge immunity test and improve the anti-static ability design of mobile phone.
Although different industry standards can be selected when conducting electromagnetic compatibility testing of mobile phones of different standards, the basic standards are the same. The electromagnetic compatibility test of mobile phones, the main items of problems are: electrostatic discharge immunity, electrical fast transient pulse group immunity, conducted disturbance and radiation disturbance.
Electrostatic discharge immunity (ESD) immunity in electromagnetic compatibility testing is a key indicator of the product and one of the major unqualified items of the product. When the ESD immunity is low, the product is not suitable for use in environments with low relative humidity, and it will inevitably affect the performance index of the product. The product is more likely to be damaged, resulting in a decrease in user acceptance of the product. Therefore, the ESD immunity of mobile phones has become one of the main indicators of the products.
There are two kinds of failures in ESD testing: one is permanent failure, which causes damage to the mobile phone; the other is soft failure, that is, the function that fails after the test is finished or after restarting the mobile phone can be restored.
