Do you know how to select the electrostatic field tester?
In business, customers often ask about the static voltage in the production workshop, how can we supervise the static electricity protection, which instruments should be matched to help the analysis work of the ESD management department, and where does the static power source come from? How high is static electricity? How to deal with (eliminate) static electricity? This series of problems are all people’s concerns. The main reason is not to start with the understanding of the tester. Only with the applicable electrostatic detection equipment can we better understand the actual situation of the production line, and find out where the problem exists. Everyone introduces the relevant information of the electrostatic tester:

1. What the instrument tests is electrostatic voltage, why is it called electrostatic field tester?
Electrostatic voltage cannot be tested by contact method, so this type of instrument actually tests the field strength of the electrostatic field at the position of the probe, and then calculates the voltage based on the distance between the probe and the measured object, so it is called an electrostatic field tester.
2. What does it mean that the test type is voltage and field strength?
It means that the screen of the tester can display the voltage value of the measured object, and it can also display the field strength value of the probe position.
3. Is the test distance very important?
The electrostatic field tester converts the field strength into voltage according to the test distance, so the actual test distance must be the set distance or the fixed distance listed in the instrument parameters.
4. What is the dissipating time and ion balance test?
The electrostatic field tester can be used to test whether there is static electricity on the surface of the object. You can also purchase accessories to evaluate the performance of static eliminators (such as ion fans). There are two important indicators of whether the static eliminator is qualified:
1) Time to eliminate static electricity: the time for the voltage of 1000V to drop to 100V, the sooner the better
2) The difference between positive and negative ions: exactly the same * good, the ion balance is 0
5. How to test the dissipating time and ion balance of the static eliminator?
To test the dissipating time and ion balance, you need to purchase electrode plates and high-voltage generators. Install the electrode plate on the tester, apply a voltage to the electrode plate with a high voltage generator, and then test the static eliminator (such as ion fan)
The time to eliminate this voltage, the residual voltage on the electrode plate is the ion balance (the difference between positive and negative ions). An electrostatic field tester with a built-in timer can only test the discharge time.
6. What is the static test for human walking?
The human body walking static electricity test is to detect the static voltage generated by the movement of the human body. The purpose is to evaluate whether the anti-static shoe-anti-static floor system can effectively conduct the static electricity generated by the human body.
