How to ground the anti-static table mat
Anti-static mat can be divided into two types: dissipative mesa and conductive mesa. We will also introduce the grounding methods separately. The first is the grounding of the dissipative mesa:
Install an anti-static grounding wire on the corner of the table mat: cut a small opening on the table mat, insert it with the star claw part of the grounding wire, the star claws must be fastened to the anti-static table pad; the other end of the anti-static grounding wire Connect to the anti-static grounding bus, and tie the wires with cable ties.
Let's take a look at how the conductive table is grounded: install the wire ears with crimping pliers, connect one end of the installed ground wire to the ESD grounding point, and use the nut and screw to connect the other end to the metal table.
After the grounding is completed, a point-to-ground resistance test should be carried out, and the dissipative table should be tested with a megohmmeter. The test standard: point-to-ground <1x10e9Ω. Taking into account the possible hidden dangers of CDM, it is recommended to set the lower limit to 1×10e6Ω.
