Ion Generator Basics (1) - What are Ions?
Although there are a number of naturally occurring ions in the air, originating from friction caused by wind and water, radioactivity in the soil, lightning, cosmic rays, etc., the resistivity of air is generally above 10¹⁵ Ohm/m, making it an excellent insulator. Increasing the amount of ions in the air improves its conductivity, allowing the removal of static charge from object surfaces, thus achieving electrostatic control.
The method of increasing ions involves causing gas atoms in the air, such as oxygen or nitrogen, to gain or lose electrons. A typical ion is a group of charged oxygen or nitrogen molecules consisting of several particles, such as positive ions like N²⁺, NO⁺, O²⁺, etc., and negative ions like NO²⁻, O⁻, O²⁻, etc.

Our company manufactures ion fans, ion guns, ion nozzles, and various other ion products.
