Surface resistance tester


The surface resistance tester is an instrument for testing the surface resistance of an object, and is mostly used in the fields of microelectronics, medicine, aerospace, precision machinery, and the like. Surface resistance tester (English: ESD Resistance tester).

Surface resistance testers are widely used in microelectronics, medicine, aerospace, precision machinery and other fields. Note: It is used for quantitative measurement of surface resistance or system resistance of all conductive, antistatic and electrostatic discharge materials. It is easy to use and easy to carry. Simply place it on the surface of the object and press the red button. The indicator range on the instrument is 103~1012Ω. One of the LEDs will light up according to the test value. Note: This tester cannot measure objects with a surface resistance exceeding 1012Ω.


  Instructions


1. Put a 9V dry battery in the battery compartment behind the tester. 2. Insert the grounding wire banana plug into the grounding wire socket at the upper end of the HAKKO-498 tester. 3. Tie your wristband to your wrist. 4. Connect the ground wire to the wrist strap. 5. Press the tester board by hand. At this time, the liquid crystal indicator lights up and you can hear a beep. (1) If the red "LOW" light is on, check the resistance of the hand strap and the ground wire. When it is less than 800 kohms, this will have an impact on human safety. (2) If the red “HIGH” light is on, check if the hand strap is tightly fastened and check the grounding wire resistance of the hand strap to ensure that the hand strap is not loose. (3) If the green "GOOD" light is on, it indicates that the grounding system is good.


Precautions when using


1. The connection between the electrostatic hand strap and the grounding wire; 2. The contact resistance between the electrostatic hand strap and the skin; 3. The connection with the grounding tool such as the anti-static joint board and the mat. 4, after about 50,000 operations, when the green "GOOD" light will still light, but no sound, it means that the battery needs to be replaced.
