There is more to anti-static tape than just these

Anti-static tape can be used for electronic protection in the circuit board manufacturing industry, especially for SMT temperature protection, electronic switches, PCB board gold finger protection, electronic transformers, relays and other electronic components that require high temperature and moisture protection.

There are two types of anti-static tapes, one is high temperature resistant anti-static tape and the other is ordinary anti-static grid tape. The high temperature resistant anti-static tape has white transparent, red, green, brown and other colors, and the ordinary anti-static tape has two colors: grid black and grid brown.

Anti-static black grid tape is made of anti-static OPP material. It has the characteristics of discharging static charge and has good transparency. When used, it only generates an electrostatic voltage below 100V (general tape ≥5000V), which greatly reduces the electrostatic hazards generated by product packaging.

High temperature resistant anti-static tape is mainly used in microelectronics, semiconductors, precision machinery and other industries. The actual base material used is brown PET film, coated with silicone, and the temperature resistance is usually between 120 degrees and 260 degrees. Since the actual application temperature of some industries does not need to be too high, not exceeding 260 degrees, the maximum temperature resistance of PET is 220°, while the temperature resistance of some inferior high-temperature resistant anti-static tapes is far less than 150°.

For high-temperature resistant anti-static tapes, the following points are mainly used for identification:

1. Taste;

2. Appearance;

3. Residue after ignition and combustion;

4. Actual high-temperature test, high temperature exceeding 260°, check whether there is residual glue, shrinkage, etc.
