Uses of anti-static plastic spatulas
Anti-static plastic spatulas (ESD Plastic Knife/Scraper) are tools specially used in ESD (electrostatic discharge) safe areas. It is mainly used for cutting, scraping and cleaning in the electronics, microelectronics, precision instruments and other industries to protect sensitive components from electrostatic damage.
The following are the main uses of anti-static plastic knives: 1. Electronic component production and repair (ESD safe operation) cutting and trimming: When repairing printed circuit board (PCB) components, cut off small component pins, remove excess solder residue, or trim the film wrapping the coil. Solder paste stirring: Used for stirring solder paste, ink, etc. The anti-static material avoids the accumulation of charge during the stirring process. Component cleaning: Scrape off the remaining glue, adhesive, coating or cured protective material on the PCB board.
2. Clean sensitive surfaces of components in precision instruments and microelectronics assemblies: Soft plastic materials are suitable for scratching high-precision surfaces without causing scratches, while dissipating surface charges. Assembly components: In liquid crystal display (LCD) and chip assembly, used for fine adjustment and pushing of components.

3. Clean room and industrial cleaning to scrape pollutants: Clean equipment and condensation on work surfaces in the anti-static work area (EPA). Because it is anti-static, it will not attract dust in the air. Operation in hazardous environments: In environments with flammable and explosive gases, liquids or dust, using an anti-static esd spatula can prevent the risk of explosion caused by sparks.
4. Cutting special materials, adhesive films and silicone rubber: In industrial production, cut anti-static plastic films, silicone rubber parts or soft packaging materials to avoid frictional static electricity accumulation at the moment of cutting.
Advantages of anti-static plastic knives ESD safety: The surface resistance is usually between \(10^{6}\) and \(10^8 Omega\), which can stably dissipate static electricity. No scratches: Softer than metal knives, it can effectively protect the surface of vulnerable components. Chemical resistance: Most plastic knives (such as PEEK or composite conductive plastic) can withstand common industrial chemical solvent cleaning.
