What is the principle behind the static electricity generation of polyester?

When two insulators with poor conductivity rub against each other, they acquire different types of charges. For example, synthetic fibers like acrylic and polyester become negatively charged when rubbed, while wool and silk easily become positively charged. Because of their poor conductivity, the generated charges cannot be quickly transferred and accumulate, resulting in static electricity. Therefore, reducing friction is one way to avoid static electricity, but eliminating friction is impossible.
