ESD Discharge Modes

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) poses a significant threat to modern industrial production. To prevent ESD, various enterprises have adopted different anti-static measures, including hardware equipment and software solutions. To prevent ESD, we must first understand its discharge modes. ESD mainly manifests in the following three modes:

A. Electric Field Induction Discharge-When an object accumulates a large amount of static electricity, an induced electric field is created around it. If a static-sensitive object comes into contact with this electric field, a voltage will be induced, potentially causing damage to the static-sensitive object.

B. Discharge from Other Objects to This Object-When a static-charged object (including the human body) releases static electricity onto this object, it causes damage to the object.

C. Discharge to This Object-When this object is charged and discharges to other objects, it causes damage to the object.
