The difference between medical masks and industrial masks

The difference between medical masks and industrial masks lies in: different product ingredients, different use times, and different use scenarios.

First, the product composition is different

The medical mask is composed of a mask face and a tension band. The mask is divided into an inner layer, a middle layer and an outer layer. The inner layer is a skin-friendly material (general sanitary gauze or non-woven fabric), the middle layer is an isolation filter layer (ultra-fine polypropylene fiber meltblown material layer), and the outer layer is a special antibacterial material layer (non-woven fabric or ultra-thin polypropylene Meltblown material layer).

Using composite filter materials, industrial masks have different configuration options according to different application scenarios. Common filter materials include: activated carbon fiber, activated carbon particles, melt blown cloth, non-woven fabric, electrostatic fiber, etc. Of course, there are other special filter materials.

Secondly, different usage time

Medical masks are usually disposable, and disposable masks cannot be reused. Disposable masks should be discarded after each use.

Industrial masks can be divided into disposable gas masks, reusable gas masks and recyclable gas masks.

Third, different usage scenarios

1. Medical mask

According to the different classification of medical masks, the applicable scenarios are also different:

General medical mask with the lowest level of protection for disposable health care in general medical environment

It is suitable for basic protection of medical staff or related personnel, as well as protection against the spread of blood, body fluids and splashes during invasive operations. It is a medical mask with a medium level of protection and a certain degree of respiratory protection. It is suitable for medical staff and related personnel to protect airborne respiratory infectious diseases. It is a close-fitting self-priming filter medical protective equipment with a high level of protection. It is especially suitable for medical protective masks worn when contacting patients with respiratory infections spread by air or droplets during diagnosis and treatment activities.

2. Industrial masks

Dust masks are important protective equipment for workers engaged in and exposed to dust. It is mainly used in working environments that contain low concentrations of harmful gases and vapors. The filter cartridge contains only adsorbent or adsorbent. Some filter cartridges are also equipped with a filter layer to prevent simultaneous occurrence of aerosols. Some military gas masks are mainly made of activated carbon cloth, or use waterproof and oil-repellent fabric as the outer layer, glass fiber filter material as the inner layer, and activated carbon-impregnated polyurethane foam as the bottom layer, which can provide temporary protection during work. A gas attack occurred suddenly.
