What methods are available for storing and handling static-sensitive electronic components?
Static-sensitive components are exposed to static-generating areas during storage and transportation. Static shielding can reduce the impact of external static electricity on electronic components. The most common methods are using static-shielding bags and anti-static turnover boxes. Additionally, anti-static clothing provides some shielding against static electricity from the human body.
Therefore, we require workers to wear cordless anti-static wrist straps and gloves, as well as anti-static clothing and shoes during handling. Specialized equipment such as anti-static bins, PCB anti-static racks, and stainless steel turnover carts should be used to minimize direct contact between the human body and the components.




It should be noted that while anti-static clothing is made of special synthetic fibers and generally does not generate static electricity through rubbing or friction, it is not static-shielding clothing and cannot eliminate static electricity generated by other clothing. Therefore, the correct way to wear it is to wear only a shirt or underwear underneath, with the anti-static clothing on top. Wearing multiple layers of synthetic fiber or wool clothing underneath in winter, and then wearing anti-static clothing, is largely ineffective.
Therefore, during storage and handling, it is essential to control the ambient temperature and humidity, wear anti-static wrist straps, and properly wear anti-static clothing. Raising the anti-static awareness of all employees is crucial. Ensuring that hands are "insulated" from the products and preventing sweat contamination is also extremely important.
