What size should the esd anti-static mat be?

Anti-static mat is a kind of preventive product, and customers' understanding of it is often only focused on its function. Regarding the size of anti-static mat, customers often take it for granted that the anti-static mat is a good product before they actually touch the product. The size should be large. Customers' requirements for size often have a width of 1.5 meters or even 2 meters, and a length of 20 or even 30 meters. In this way, they will often only be rejected by the manufacturer.

So manufacturers really can't produce large-size anti-static mats? The answer is obviously no, the key lies in why the manufacturer is unwilling to make the size of the anti-static mat very large. Customers who have experience in ordering know that anti-static mat manufacturers generally provide sizes of 0.6-1.2m in width, 10m in length, and 2-5mm in thickness, and the secret lies in its thickness. Don’t think that 2mm is a thin layer. In fact, this is already a thick stack of A4 paper, not to mention the anti-static rubber mat.

Taking our anti-static mat as an example, a 2mm thick anti-static mat weighs 3kg per square meter, then a roll with a width of 1m and a length of 10m weighs 30kg, and when the thickness is 5mm, it reaches 75kg. Once the length continues to increase, such as reaching 20m , the weight has reached 150kg. For the manufacturer, such a weight is no problem at all, but it is difficult to ensure that there will be no bumps during transportation, which will affect the quality of the product. When laying, such a weight may be slightly different. If you are not careful, the laying personnel will be injured, and the excessive quality will also bring great inconvenience to the laying.

Therefore, for the convenience of customers during actual laying, manufacturers often persuade customers to adjust the size of the order appropriately.
