Testing the Resistance Value of Antistatic Shoes
I. Instruments
A. The power supply of the testing instrument can output DC voltage of 100V±2V. The measurement result can be accurate to within 5%, and the energy consumed on the test sample can be guaranteed not to exceed 3W.
The voltmeter and ammeter of the instrument have an accuracy of 2.5 class, and the range can meet the measurement requirements.
B. The inner electrode consists of steel balls with a total weight of 4KG and a diameter of 5MM. Anti-oxidation treatment must be performed before use.
C. The outer electrode is a copper plate. Anti-oxidation treatment must be performed before use, and it must be cleaned with ethanol.
II. Preparation of Test Samples
A. Clean the surface of the shoe sole to be tested with ethanol. Wash the sole with distilled water and dry it under the specified conditions. Do not use organic substances that will corrode, swell, or deform the sole for cleaning. The sole surface should not be abraded. Apply a conductive layer with an area of 180*40MM on the cleaned sole and let it air dry under the specified environmental conditions.
Measurement of the resistance value of the conductive coating.

The device for measuring the resistance value of the conductive coating consists of three conductive metal pillars, each with a top radius of 3mm ± 2mm. Two pillars are spaced 35mm ± 0.2mm apart and connected by a metal wire. The third pillar is 160mm ± 5mm away from the midpoint connecting the other two pillars and is insulated from them.
The shoe with the conductive coating is placed on the designated metal pillars. The forefoot portion of the shoe is placed on the two pillars spaced 35mm apart, and the heel portion is placed on the third pillar, ensuring all three pillars are in contact with the conductive coating. The resistance between the first two pillars and the third pillar is then measured using the specified testing instrument. The measured resistance must be less than 1KΩ.
III. Environmental requirements for antistatic shoe testing: Temperature 20℃ ± 2℃; Relative humidity: 30% ± 3%.
A. Place the test sample under the specified environmental conditions for at least 24 hours.
B. If the test cannot be conducted within the specified environment, it must be completed within 5 minutes after the test sample is removed from that environment.
IV. Antistatic Shoe Test Procedure: Fill the test shoe with steel balls as specified (if the shoe upper height is insufficient to accommodate all conductive steel balls, insulating material can be used to increase the shoe upper height). Place the test sample with the steel balls on the specified external electrode, and connect the specified DC power supply between the inner and outer electrodes for 1 minute. Measuring circuit principle.
Record or calculate the voltage and current values after the specified time.
